It’s different from the other assisted living places. It’s not like an apartment and more like a hospital. Everybody seems nice there, and she seems to get along well. The room was a little small, and she was in with another person. It doesn’t have bad odors, was very well-maintained, and had a very good staff.

I can not even begin to describe how terrible this place is. I had a family member in this nursing home, and if I could have took her out I would have in a heart beat. I would walk in the room to my family member hanging out of bed, in dirty clothes, with a wet diaper. If the patients push their emergency button, they come at their convenience no matter how bad the situation is. When my family member tried to explain to a nurse her needs, it was too much of an effort to them.
Here you have the freedom to experiment with new hobbies, re-ignite your sense... This facility is cheerful, newer and well maintained! The staff in the dining is a hit or miss a lot of times.

The hallways were so noisy, so loud were the workers, that I continuously asked for my door to be kept shut. I left the place after three days without waiting for a doctor's approval...any normal procedure, I was so distraught. They need to get rid of the younger ones and hire someone more dedicated, and they could use more variety in activities. My mom was in a terrible accident and needed a facility to recover at after leaving the hospital. I called to see if Harmer Village had beds available and was told they did. I therefore asked the hospital to submit a referral to Harmer Village. Suddenly they didn’t have any beds available.
We chose it because it’s top-rated, 5-star, and I’ve heard from others the quality of service was great and it is. The staff I’ve been in contact with has been great. It’s just the way it’s prepared, sometimes it doesn’t go over real well, but it’s good quality. The facility is clean and neat looking, and everything’s up-to-date. They don’t have too many activities because of the virus. They only have bingo, they go outside, they watch movies, and stuff like that.

Ironic that an establishment that sells itself on caring and compassion would turn away a patient that would require too much care and lose them money. My father was in Woodhaven Care Center before for rehab. It was OK, but they're understaffed, and there's just not enough people. There's only one lady, and there are 40 patients, but the staff was knowledgeable. I liked the rooms; they have big windows, and the rooms get a lot of light.
No one observed him eating, bathing or using the bathroom, all of which require staff support. Leaving him stuck in bed all day, which he had fallen out of several times. There were no day activities and I noted all of the residents sleeping or alone in rooms watching TV. His plan of care was NOT followed and it became obvious staff never even read it! Very terrible care, director is actively involved in managing staff to ensure the patient's needs are getting met.
